“Halloween Everyday” is an old mantra of the Providence underground that still holds true to the grit and spirit of the city we call home. Here at Aurora we have tried to take a more literal approach to this idea and are proud to offer up a host of appropriately “Hallows Eve-y” programming and events all month in October. Here’s a taste of the candy fueled hurricane coming our way:

Thursday October 13th, 11pm

Third Shift Halloween Edition:  Aurora’s homegrown networking showcase for emerging Music Producers in the RI area. Created and curated by local producer and super talent, Kris Fame, October’s installment should prove to be spooky, chill, and trill.

Haunted Providence Masquerade Ball:

Wednesday October 19th 7pm

The Vortex Film Festival:

From the people who bring us the Rhode Island Film Festival, comes Vortex; a celebration of Horror, Sci-Fi and Fantasy. Vortex showcases imagination and creativity in filmmaking and will include a bevy of World and U.S. Premieres. In all, 80 films have been selected from over 5,000 submissions. They represent 15 countries including the United Kingdom, Australia, New Zealand, Ireland, Canada, Germany, Iran, Spain, France, Turkey, South Korea, Poland, and the United States. Many of the filmmakers will be in attendance, so audience members will have a chance to meet, ask questions, and even network with the next generation of genre filmmakers.

followed by Frank Difficult presents at 9:30pm:

Providence’s own Frank Difficult helms another installment of his long running series, a multi media presentation of old and new, favorites and forgotten gems. Not to be missed by crate diggers and cinephiles alike.
